Trying to plan a meeting with some friends there. I will be flying into Heathrow. Would it be best to take rail to Crewe or take another flight to Manchester and then onto Crewe. Also what hotels would you reccomend where pubs and eateries are close by.
Can you include travel time by rail etc...etc...
Thanks, for the information..! Sounds like it's going to be the airflight into Manchester and then the train ride to Crewe from there...
There are regular trains from Manchester Airport to Crewe - a direct one only takes 35 minutes but sometimes you have to change at Manchester Picadilly and a journey with a change can take about one hour. The station in Crewe is a long walk in to the town centre so take a taxi if your friends want to meet you in the centre.
Crewe is a very ordinary town but nearby Nantwich is very old - its a Tudor town and there is just one Nantwich page here on VT. Cheshire is a really nice county and there are many pages on the county here on VT.
Another really nice Cheshire town is Audlem - I have a page here on VT. It is not far from Crewe.
