The Ellesmere Port Holiday Inn is something rare in modern hotels - it's one with a bit of character. The main building is modern Holiday Inn style so it's roomy, light and feels good. The leisure club & conference centre is housed in some old dock buildings though so has beams and original features.
We actually got married here in 2004 and I can't praise them enough. The staff bent over backwards to help us and the day went perfectly (the only thing I remember not going to plan was the bridgesmaid nicking my glass of champagne!!!).
The major downer for the hotel is the location though - in terms of the approach. It's down on the original dock area of Ellesmere Port which looks less than inspiring as you drive through as there were a few derelict buildings when we visited. However once you turn into the car park you have typical Holiday Inn (not ex-Posthouse) quality so you can forget the outside world.
Unique Quality: Check out the leisure centre and conference facilities in original dock buildings.
As a chain of Hotel you know what kind of quality to expect. Handily placed a stone's throw from the Boat museum, close to good motorway connections and also a short distance to Liverpool and Manchester airports.
