Travel Tips for Macclesfield

Macclesfield

by b85abydoll

"Daytime!"

Macclesfield in the day time!!! Well it isnt very exciting to be told.

We have many buses going about which will probably arrive late if they turn up at all!!!
We have a wonderfully small train station which can take us to lots of beautiful places which arent Macclesfield!!!!

The good thing which we have are lots of shops in the town centre which include River Island, Next, New Look etc, were i tend to spend alot of money! If you then run low on money we have a poundland and you can get some pretty good things from in there for only a pound!!!!

For the healthy people we have a leisure center with a fully equipped gym, tennis courts, swimming pool etc and there is now JJB super Gym for the healthy people with money!!! and it is very high class and exclusive, so obviously i have never been in!!!

We also have a cinemaish, its one screeen in the heritage center but it plays the upto date films which is an added bonus but they dont do the cinema style popcorn!!!!

We have 2 big parks in Macc which are called West Park and South Park! Wonderful names i know!!

West Park is the most exciting out of the two. It has a really big playground which is fun for all ages as i still play on it!!
There is a bowling green, crazy golf, half pipe and a bmx course!!

Every August they do a Party in the Park which consists of different tribute bands playing this year it will be Blondie, The Beatles and ABBA.

I went for the 1st time last year and it was such a good night! basically the bowling green is over taken and where evr you can find space and you park yourself there for the night and you can bring your own food and drink so you dont need to pay the prices at the burger bars etc!!!

They also do a Family fun day a couple of days after the party and there is shows going on in 3 different arenas, stalls everywhere, fairground rides, childrens shows, food bars and a beer tent - woohoo!

South Park is smaller but it has a duck pond, half pipe, a small playground, tennis courts, and a basketball court. There are bigger fields in this park and better for walking dogs!!

Very scary walking through it at 4 am tho as there are no lights.

I work next to this park so we get to go in there alot to take the children to feed the ducks so we get to see it in every season and it is so pretty now, its had a revamp!
It is so pretty in summer when all the flowers are at their fullest.

"Nightlife!!!"

Nightlife in Macclesfield is okish if you cant be bothered to leave Macc!

I advise everyone on a night out to start the night in Wetherspoons at Park Green!!
This pub is where everyone goes to get the cheap drinks, they have just made it even better as they play music in there, were as before it used to be a roar of talking!
They do pretty good scampi and other foods there to start the night off!

Then you can move up mill street as there are lots of pubs on the way from old locals to modern top notch ones such as Barracuda which was the old Littern Tree!

Chicago Rock is a pub you should go in just for a drink before going on to preachers or cuba.
Chicago plays music from the 80s, 90s n nowadays and there is a little dancefloor so you can have a boogie if you really feel the need!!!

Preachers is where i usually end up and it is a small one floor club. There is sitting as you enter and then the rest is dancefloor so everyone can have a little space of there own to enjoy themselves.
It does take a while to get served as its only a little bar.

I usually just stick to the local pubs as you dont get all the drunken idiots who just want to fight over nothing!!!

"Try it"

Im trying to sell it best as i can but ive lived here for 21 years and im just bored with it!!!

To everyone else it will seem like a lovely little town with beautiful hilside views and it is a nice place to come and visit!

So take a trip to Macclesfield you may like it!
