We went to the Crown Hotel a couple of times for the Nantwich Words and Music festival... The artists (Mark Radcliffe and Athlete) were brilliant, and to be fair, the venue is also perfect for a 200 capacity crowd.... but unfortunatly this is let down by the bar.. service is poor, but the biggest crime are the drinks prices.. a glass of red wine (rioja) and a pint of coke (the crappy stuff that comes out of the syphon) was a whopping £8.90 ! this might be ok in a trendy city centre bar, but in a northern market town, me thinks this is a tad high! I raised this with the barman, he apologised advising that Rioja is one of their dearer wines at £6.40.. that wouldnt be so bad if the coke wasnt so ridiculously expensive (£3.40 a pint)..
No wonder pubs are closing down.. puinters are sick of being ripped off !
