Travel Tips for Middlesbrough

Luggage storage – forget it!

by Airpunk

Unfortunately, Middlesbrough has no luggage storage facilities. None at the coach station, none at the train station, none at the shopping mall. The only people willing to keep an eye on my luggage were the friendly people at the Dorman Museum while I was visiting the exhibition. But please, do not use the museum as a cloakroom!

Just One Cornetto

by cheekymarieh

One of my favourite memories of Middlesbrough was going to Rea's for an ice cream when we had been to Albert Park. Unfortunately the cafe is no longer there as their son had another occupation in mind.

Strongbow and Black! You can...

by sambarnett

Strongbow and Black! You can find it all over, but it was in Redcar that I was introduced to it. I love hard ciders, but Strongbow on its own wasn't very good. Add a dash of black courant and wham! You've got yourself a mighty fine drink. Sweet enough for breakfast but I wouldn't recommend that, this stuff packs a punch and it quickly creeps up on you.
It's even pretty to look it, with that ruby hue. I wish I could drink the picture! Mmmm... ;)

Natures World

by fi_j_t

Aimed more at local people i think this is deffinatly worth a trip if you are into 'green' issues. A little like a garden but with more too do. The theme is environmentally friendly. They are heavily into recycling and comunity involvement, and have many interesting features like the tire garden and mini beast safari. There is a scale model of the tees from source to sea, and a hydroponicum. I really enjoyed my visit here - there is plenty for kids to do and you never know you might even learn something

Stokesley

by keeweechic

Stokesley is a small market town of Cleveland, consisting chiefly of one broad street, running east and west and the river Leven (known for its trout) runs parallel to the High Street. The buildings are neat, and for the most part in the modern style. A market is held on Saturdays.
