Pier House Hotel: Modern luxuries in an old hotel

Small, cottage style rooms in a wonderful old guesthouse right next to the sea and the historical dock.

The restaurant serves terrific food that obviously includes fresh fish.

The cooked breakfast in the morning will keep you going all day!

a beautifully restored Georgian house its name comes from part of the sails of a square rigged sailing ship, the Top Gallant, shortened to T`Gallant

the house itself is very comfortable and well furnished, and the bedrooms are charming
for a romantic stay ask for room 5, its a king size room with a four poster bed and superb views over the harbour

accommodation includes Continental breakfast, and costs £65 for rooms 1 and 5 which are larger and have harbour views, and £58 for the other 6 rooms, these prices are per room not per person, there is a small reduction for single occupancy

there is a small tea room and garden adjoining the house for coffee, lunches and teas, while T`Gallants is open all year round the tea rooms is not, but there are several places in Charlestown which are

the harbour views are great, and the lounge is comfortable
there is no bar but the Rashleigh Arms is just a few steps away

the owner, Malcolm is very friendly, welcoming and helpful

there is no car park at T`Gallants, but there is a public car park across the road, parking costs £2 per day, Charlestown is only a small village and gets very busy during the tourist season, so if you are visiting then aim to arrive early morning or evening to be sure of a parking space close by
