Haven House B&B: Excellent, Friendly and Economical B&B

This is one of the best B&Bs that I've stayed in. Trawling the web for places that were in a nice location and a decent price, even out of season (March 2007) we were very lucky to find this place.

The bedrooms have great views across the river to West Looe. They're bright and airy and very well decorated, each with a television.

While they don't have en-suite bathrooms, you're only sharing the large and well decorated bathroom with one other bedroom as it's such a small guesthouse.

If you can't be bothered to check out the restaurants below on the High Street then they can even cook you dinner for an extra charge. Dinner isn't exactly cheap, but we walked in one evening while they were entertaining in the dining room and saw just what they serve - if we hadn't had such a great tapas already in the village, then we'd really have been kicking ourselves because the food looked great.

Unique Quality: There are many excellent qualities here, where to start?

In addition to comfy bedrooms, the owners are really friendly but also leave you to your own devices. While it's a small B&B, very like staying in someone's home in fact, you don't feel like you are intruding as they really give you your own space - they have their own separate living area.

I have to say something about the breakfast here too. It's one of the best I've had anywhere. They use local produce and you can tell. The quality of the sausages, bacon and eggs was remarkable. So much so that we meant to find out where they got the sausages from so that we could go and buy some to take home.

They also have a couple of cats who loll about in old age on the window sill. This is a B&B that really deserves to be a success.
