Budock Vean Hotel on the River

When I was a kid my Grandparents used to treat us to Christmas at this giant hotel in Cornwall.
Its like staying in a stately home , 5 course breakfasts and 10 course dinners. If you imagine a cross between Gosford park and the hotel in the Shining then you'll get and idea. A variety of domestic and international wildlife has been mounted on the walls and staircases and it 's possible to eat so much between breakfast, elevenses, lunch ,afternoon tea and dinner that you'll need to use the tennis courts or the 9 hole golf course.
They used to run competitions for people staying over the Christmas period in every sport imaginable with presentations in front of the guests at Dinner, though my Grandfather did disgrace himself by pushing my head into a strawberry pavlova during particulary boring acceptance speech.
The fact they also have their own bay and river makes me wish the family was still as minted as it was back then.

Unique Quality: Its like the hotel in the " Shining " only no room 23 , hacked up twins , or lifts full of blood and the bar staff don't tell you to kill your family .
