WELL DONE ELLEN!!
I was fortunate to have the privilege to welcome back Ellen Macarthur to Falmouth from her record breaking sail around the world.
It was a wonderful day 1000s of people attended and a fantastic atmosphere. There was so much media attention there, 5 helicopters circling above us filming, plus countless on the ground crews interviewing people & waiting for their chance to interview Ellen herself.

One of my favourite memories was standing next to an old lady maybe in her late 70s early 80s, watching Ellen sail in to the harbour, she turned to me & said “I feel so emotional, Ellen is such a fantastic woman & I feel so proud ” with that a tear ran down her cheek as she struggled to contain herself.
I have to admit I felt it too.
