Falmouth
"A Great Starting Point Into Cornwall"
The pretty town of Falmouth is a great base to discover Cornwall. It's not very big, just big enough to stroll around, do some shopping in it's tiny cobbled stone citycentre or enjoy the view of the Bay. For its history it has the nice Pendennis castle to visit. Also very near The Eden Project in St. Austell and a short drive to the Helford River, where the smugglers coves (described in Daphne du Maurier's books) can be seen. There are good walks to be done and lovely restaurants to be tried. B&B's provide room to its visitors, some even with bayview. Its atmosphere is very relaxed. A good place to wind down.
