The Lodge Perranporth: Great Views

The Lodge at Perranporth provides great self catering accomodation just 5-10 minutes walk from the beach and town area. It is a detached building with a lovely private garden surrounded by shrubs and trees; the only uninvited visitors we had were the wild rabbits who live in the adjacent fields. The Lodge is situated on a ridge in the grounds of the Perranporth Camping and Touring Park. The views from the panoramic windows are outstanding, you are surrounded by countryside with the campsite on the fields below you and then over into the distance you can see Perranporth town and the sea. The Lodge sleeps 5, comprising of one double bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds and a futon in the lounge. The lounge area is comfortable with a large wide screen tv. The gas fire as advertised did not work but we used a heater from another room when it got a bit chilly. There is a nice dining area to one side of the lounge and a well equipped galley kitchen. A really nice touch was that there was milk in the fridge awaiting our arrival, biscuits (which we managed to resist) and a vase of roses on the dining room table. While staying at the Lodge you can use the campsite facilities which include a well equipped shop, open air swimming pool and a bar which was situated just a stones throw away from the lodge. Being surrounded by the campsite and in close proximity to the bar I did think we would hear some noise at closing time but depite staying in spring bank holiday there was relatively little noise.

We booked the Lodge through the Company 'AK Holidays' see website below. They have a number of holiday properties to rent in the area but I would recommend the Lodge and I would love to go back there again in the future.

YHA Perranporth: Surf...Sea Air and Spectecular view Hostel!

I would highly recommand....Perranporth YHA! In my opinion, I think it's the best hostel in the world! This hostel has only around 24 beds! It's very popular among the surfers and the holiday makers! So, make sure to book it ahead of time at www.yha.org.uk! And it costs only 18 GBP a night! - with this amount of money...you can expect the warm welcome....you will feel right at home in this tiny hostel....you will get along and have the dinner with anothers who will always have the topic of "Surfing". Also, the Kitchen is available for cooking and making friends!

Unique Quality: It is not only the friendliest hostel I've been to but also...It is the most spectular view overlooking from the hostel! The tremendous view of the ocean from the rocky cliff....you can also listen to the wave crush the shore by the night...Watching people surf from above...but you have to walk up hill to get there(really worth it)!

THE CLIFFSIDE HOTEL: ROOM WITH A VIEW

This is a nice little hotel that sits up on a hill facing directly down the beach. We had a great view from our room which was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower which was very welcome after our long walk.

Unique Quality: We were made to feel very welcome by the owners who went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our short stay. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and set us up for another days walking the coast path. Would recommend The Cliffside if you are in the area.
