Biomes At Night

It is quite a magical feeling wandering arouns the biomes at night, especially the tropical one, hearing the rush of the waterfall, rustlings of the plants.

Last year at at WOMAD the brilliant Dhol Foundation played above the waterfall, the sounds of the drums bouncing off the roof of the humid tropical biome was a wonderful attack on the senses,. It created a unique atmosphere I feel lucky to have experienced.

This year a soundscape was created by David Low "Dreamcatcher". We found ourselves a bench in a restricted area, so no other people, sitting in the middle of the jungle listening to the music. A magical moment.

This motorcyle was somehow incorporated into a mural - it realy was strange to work out which was real and which was picture!
This was part of the rubbber display - runbber being used for things like tryes.

Malaysia

These are plants from the Malaysia area.

Here you will find various edible plants and product plants, which are used for their oil, fuel & medicinal purpose. There is also a typical Malaysian house built here & a paddy field.

Outdoor Biome

Here are the two Biomes & the outdoor biome area, the small grey building in the middle of the photo is a large stage area over the lake for the WOMAD concert.

The stage looks so small it puts the huge biomes in to perspective a bit more.
