Cuban Biome
by freya_heaven
This Cuban band, "Asere" played twice in the Warm Temperate Biome. They were so good. This photo was taken at their first early evening set. The late evening performance was wonderful, very atmospheric in the dark Biome, people dancing & really getting in to the swing of the music. Excellent!
Althought their upbeat music was brilliant Ithink my favourite song of theirs was a slow one called "Romantica", very relaxing.

Inside the Warm Temperate Biome

Even out of season it was quite busy with visitors - must be packed in the summer months. Here's a view inside the Warm temperate Biome - you can see there is quite a bit of space to wander around and enjoy the plants.
The Tropical Biome
by Geoff_Wright
The Tropical Biome, at 50 meters in height, is the larger of the two structures. This biome is by far the more spectacular of the two (or three, if you include the 'Outside Biome), and is full of tropical trees and plants from many different tropical Countries. Here you will find Bananas, Rice, Date Palms, Rubber Trees and many, many more trees and plants that you have probably only ever heard of, but not actually seen and touched. Yes, there is no restriction on touching the exhibits, but don't pick the fruits or flowers please!
Eden Project & WOMAD
by freya_heaven
The town St Austell is situated in a large bay on the South Cornwall Coast.
Until I unpack my St Austell photos this page will just be about the wonderful Eden Project, which is situated just a couple of miles from St Austell.
I love the Eden Project, this was my 5th visit. My first was when Eden was still in the construction stage, how it has changed & grown in the past 4 years.
I find most inspirational about Eden Project, was it was the dream of one man Tim Smit, & despite all the hardships (and there were many) he pulled it off. Today the Eden Project is one of the most popular tourist attractions outside London. Infact they have spells where they ask peole to stay away as they are too busy!
Photo is of the Mild Mediterranean Biome in the distance & the smaller building is the stage over the lake for WOMAD
