Rooms were cold, basic (ours were on a par with the Travelodge down the road - and they charged £19 per night for the same period) and staff were rude and unhelpful. The management responded to complaints aggressively and some of our party are looking to take legal action over Health and Safety grounds (a severely dairy-allergic 7 year old was made ill after being fed with dairy products. This, after the Hotel insisted they could cater for special diets, and the parents were told they were not allowed to bring in their own dairy free food).
Staff argued, others 'bad mouthed' colleagues in front of waiting customers. Bills were incorrect, there were no control procedures to stop anyone charging any service to any room they liked and food portions were OK but TINY. For the wedding breakfast, I had a piece of chicken, less than one carrot, one potato and a sprig of broccoli - for which the bride and groom had paid an awful lot.
Nice conservatory/sun room was balanced by a frankly creepy bar.
