Darlington
"Fleeting visit"
I have spent many hours in Darlington, the birth place of the railways, having lived in Catterick which is only a few miles away. I have always thought of it as a good place to shop, some decent pubs and I've watched Darlington FC on many an occasion. My daughter recently bought a house there. We went for a weekend visit and decided to stay in an hotel for easyness. We chose the Kings Head Hotel at 85pounds a room I thought it would be ok. I have to say it is the worst valued hotel I have stayed in. Although the room was clean that is all that could be said. Atmosphere nil, bar closed, staff miserable and breakfast poor. See hotel tip.
