 | Travelodge Durham Station Lane: Bog standard, short stay hotel

Before I even got to Durham I knew the sort of hotel I was getting, having stayed in a Travelodge before, standard clean room with TV, big bed and a shower/bath, not a lot else. One bit of soap and two towels will last one night, the decor is standard but fine, the view was not great, but you're not there for that so it doesn't really matter. The Travelodge, is split into annex buildings, so you get sent out in all weathers, round the back to your building and room, of course being a single traveller they stuck me at the back in the corner in room 203. I didn't have the breakfast as my last Travelodge breakfast experience was poor at best, so I can't talk about that, but for a short inexpensive stay, the Travelodge is fine, as long as you don't mind walking a bit. Room rate at time of stay was £55 a night which is fairly cheap in general for hotel chains.
