at Aira ForceA Place Deserving More Time Than We Gave It
Unfortunately I have no wonderful pictures of Carlisle to share. I really don't have any pictures of the city either. My visit to Carlisle has really just been going through it quickly, on the way to Scotland, or stopping briefly to see a friend's shop. Each time that I have rushed through, I've seen the castle and the cathedral and promised to return with more time. It hasn't happened yet.
Being that it has been a number of years since I was last there, my memory is not as good as it used to be, so I can't even - yet - give you the name of the shop I visited there. It had an eclectic mix of merchandise, all of which were reasonably priced. I would classify it as a little like Pier 4 or even a bit like Ikea's houseware area - but it has been a few years and Tony & Elaine have probably changed the mix since then.
I promised myself that one day I will return - and I will. I doubt that the castle will have disappeared by then, its lasted this long!
