High Laning Farm Camp Site: Very popular
We didn't stay on this site but it was certainly popular. We could see it from where we were staying and it filled up over the weekend.
There appears to be two pitching areas, one behind the farm, where proper facilities exist and at least two large fields on the other side of the road. There were a couple of port-a-loos in these fields and nothing else.
The site seemed to cater mainly for tent campers although there was the odd caravan and motorhome.
Nicely located, although on the main road into the village, the site has pleasant views of the surrounding fells.
The site's own website does not appear to work at present.
Unique Quality: It must have something, going on it's popularity!! I guess just it's location in a pretty village with two pubs within easy staggering distance. Also popular with cyclists and motorcyclists and Dent is on the Daleswaylong distance footpath.

Mill Beck Certificated Site.: Great Location, Not So Great Price.....!!
We were pleased to see the inclusion of this site (5 units only) in the Camping and Caravanning Club, as Dent was somewhere we weren't very familiar with. The price quoted in the Club's handbook was £6 - £7 a night.
Upon arrival, we were amazed to find it empty, in such a lovely location. Our hostess met us and that's when things went wrong. We were charged £6 each per night, doubling the quoted price. Needless to say, we were not happy bunnies. We tried explaining club rules meant a nightly fee should be inclusive for a family of four and a caravan/motorhome/tent. The site owner would have none of this so our only option was to pay up as we didn't want to have to move onto the commercial site. I did write a letter to the Camping Club about the situation and am presently awaiting a reply.
Unique Quality: 0.8 acres of sloping field, a tap, chemical disposal and a port-a-loo. On the main road so noisy until night time. Nice views of surrounding countryside. Close to the village and it's shop, cafes and pubs.
