I was very much surprised how early the shops close in Kendal.
When I came back from my hike to Hill Top Farm, it was about 5:30 pm and most of the shops were either already closed or just closing. Even the mall next to the town hall was closing. I hadn't planned on doing lots of shopping, but still needed a few items.Luckily Boots was still open, until 6 pm.
There may be a bigger mall outside the town, but for those tourists without a car, these early closing times can be difficult, so plan accordingly.
