Great Friendly Hospitality, Well Recommended
Ronnie proprieter is a great host, nice cup of tea when we arrived after long journey, comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfasts, extremely good hospitality throughout leaves lasting impression. Thanks Ronnie
Fab place to stay
never been the Lakes before so looked at reviews before booking, we have stayed in lots of accommodation for short breaks in England Ireland and abroad and the reviews dont alway paint a true picture. Well the reviews for this lovely B & B did, Ronnie the owner is indeed very welcoming, makes a lovely cuppa and a fantastic breakfast, the accommodation is excellent, our room was decorated lovely had a lovely en suite, the tea and coffee facility was brill for a tea-aholic like myself. The location is ideal a 15min walk to the town centre and easy parking over the road from the B & B. We took our two small dogs for the first time which was very tyring but going back to the room chilled us out. would definately go back!!!!
A Genuine Home from Home
We have just returned home after spending 3 nights at Brookfield Bed & Breakfast in Keswick. This is the first time we have stayed at a Bed and Breakfast and to be honest we really didn't know what to expect. Luckly we had read the previous reviews on Trip Advisor and they were all very encouraging so it gave us the confidence to give it a go.
I must stay that Ronnie was an excellent host, he gave us details of the best places to eat in Keswick for our evening meals and although we only had chance to sample 3 of his recommendations they all turned out to be fantastic. My particular favourite was the Bank Tavern which serves excellent meals and a very nice pint of Cumberland.
Ronnie's breakfasts were really excellent with a great deal of choice, although we opted for the full english every morning which set us up well for a full day's walking on the hills in fact it was so filling that we never once bothered to have lunch and just waited until our evening meal.
The room we had (room 2) was excellent with a great shower and very comfortable bed. Ronnie did show is another room and it was also of a similar high standard. The walk into Keswick wasn't far, about a mile and we got a taxi back for under £4. All in all I would not hesitate in recommending Brookfield to anyone and we will certainly return in the future.
Relaxed and Homely
When planning a walking holiday to introduce two friends to the beauty of the Lake District, I Googled B & B’s in Keswick to see what was on offer, after reading previous guests reviews it was a clear choice to book 2 nights at Brookfield.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Ronnie with tea and biscuits, the rooms were great and as her in doors said “She knew I’d picked a winner when she saw how clean the sheets on the bed were!”
We had a fantastic walking holiday which was enhanced by Ronnie’s helpfulness when needed, even to the point of washing my friend’s jumper after an accident with the red wine.
Memorable: Keswick, Ronnie, breakfast, cleanliness. Brookfield for rebooking in the future.
Having enjoyed a number of happy holidays together in the Lake District, my wife and I were very keen to revisit the area and take our 21-month old daughter to this beautiful part of the country for the first time...and we could not have had a better base. Both the room and the food were fantastic, and Ronnie was the perfect host. He made our little girl feel extremely important and welcome, and was full of useful information about the area. We'll definitely be going back!
everything you need for a pleasant stay in keswick
after a two and a half hour journey, the tea, coffee and biscuits served by ronnie were most welcome,as was all his advice on places to eat during our stay in keswick.
when we returned from a full days walking, it was a pleasure to come back to a spotlessley clean room ,a lovely hot shower and the smell of fresh clean bed linen, what more could you ask for to aid a good nights sleep!
after that good nights sleep, cereal, toast ,and a full breakfast was excellent, just whats needed before a long days walking.
we will definitely be returning soon
Very welcoming, very warm and very comfortable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got a very warm welcome from Ronnie on arrival and we were delighted to take advantage of the very kind offer of tea/coffee and biscuits.
On being given our keys (both to the room and front door!) it was very re-assuring to be told 'to come and go as you please'.
Ronnie's local knowledge of places to visit, eat and drink we also found invaluable.
The rooms we stayed in were smashing and the beds were super comfortable with a good nights sleep virtually guaranteed!
We both chose the full English breakfast and enjoyed the same very much.
We particularly liked the location of Brookfield as it looked onto the wood opposite and being able to park and see ones vehicle from the B and B we also considered a distinct advantage, especially over some other establishments nearer the centre of town.
We both wish Ronnie continued success and have no hesitation in recommending his home to others.

Wish stay was longer...
We really enjoyed our Brookfield stay on Sunday night - very relaxing room plus great view. Your superb breakfast on Monday set us up in fine style for our Skiddaw walk. Also, your recommendations for Keswick pubs to eat in were top notch - we really needed the Dog & Gun's goulash after Skiddaw.
We'd love to stay at Brookfield again in the future, and will recommend Brookfield to friends and relatives.

Fantastic, Friendliest B & B we have ever stayed in!!!
We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Keswick . Although the weather was superb and Keswick itself really beautiful, the weekend was made all that more special by our fantasticB & B and its host Ronnie.
On our arrival we were given a choice of tea or coffee and biscuits, just what we needed after our journey. Ronnie was most helpful, we were given a map of the area and he recommended a choice of different eating establishments for our stay.
We had a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, it was great and always plenty of nice clean towels for all of us, the room was always warm and wery welcoming on our return.
The breakfast is very very good with a varied choice, very good quality food and always piping hot with a never ending hot cup of tea/coffee and orange juice.
The Brookfield is a short walk uphill from Castle Rigg, worth the walk for the superb views all around, Ronnie had mapped out a great walk to continue from here and it was perfect for us.
Ronnie also rang and made reservations for us at the local indian restaurant that he had recommended and it was exceptional.(Lakeland Spice Well worth a visit), nothing was too much trouble for him.
Would definitely recommend this B & B, the children are already wanting to go back.
We left with fond memories of Keswick and very fond memories of Ronnie and the Brookfield. Looking forward to when we can visit again.
