glad i ignored the other reviews

me and my partner suzy stayed 2 nights this weekend, and just before booking this quick get away, i read the reviews on here and i have to say im glad i ignored them, on arrival we was greeted with a warm friendly welcome, ys the room was dated in decor but it added charachter to the place, the room was clean, with an en-suite bathroom with a proper sized bath, as im over 6' i find it hard at times getting a bath i can relax in comfortably, this was not a problem here, tv with freeview channels, coffee and tea making stuff with mugs not tiny cups a bonus, the room although oneof the hotels budget rooms was very nice and spacious with a wardrobe and a dresser, we had a meal in the hotel on the saturday, and the service again was friendly and warm, the staff just really helpfull, we asked the young girl who brought our meals out about desserts, she went away returning after finding what was availible, excellent service, the desserts sounded exquisite unfortunately after our meals we had no room for them :) the meals were scrumptious and good sized portions, tried the cider on tap also that was yummy, no its not the hilton but the hilton has not got what this place has got, and at a budget price, i would most deffinately stay here again and reccommend it to all, thanks to all at the hotel for a lovely weekend damion and suzy (we will be back again) x

Unique Quality: service, personality, unique, character, food mmm :) warm atmosphire wether buzy or quiet polite and helpfull staff, close to motorway and attractions like the reghed discovery centre, the bird of prey centre, penrith just up the road, and the lakes not far away, although i would not recommend the pub down the road the george and dragon, although polite to a degree , they were as warm as an iceberg, and as helpful as a chocolate fire guard, the opposit to the warm, polite, helpfull, friendly, staff at the clifton
