    Quite basic but friendly site in a great location. It does have a modern toilet.shower block, and a cafe/tearoom at the farm, but not a lot else. (What else do you need?). Cost is 4.50 pounds per nigh for the tent and 5 for the car.

  • Directions: Head out of Glendridding towards Patterdale (the lake is on your left), past the church (on your right) and before you reach the Patterdale Hotel look for a left turn. A narrow road goes over some fields towards the farm.

    Great cottage at the edge of Park Foot Holiday Park. With nice view of Lake Ullswater.

    Very large 5-bedroom cottage with Jacuzzi and a great view on lake Ullswater.Very well equiped.
    This cottage can sleep 10 persons.

    We stayed here for two nights. Luckily a lot of us got booked in here, we had three double rooms, a single and a twin room with a camp bed. I think that if you go on a weekend you have to stay for two nights (which is the same for most of the BnBs in this area).

    Our room was a lovely four poster bedroom. It had a mini bar and an ensuite bathroom (think all the rooms were ensuite though). One only criticism was that the bedroom was very hot.

    I would definately recommend this BnB. It was the 1st BnB that you come to in Glenridding and is in walking distance to the Inn on the Lake hotel and the local shops.

    The proprietors of this BnB were very welcoming. They greeted us on arrival and ensured that we had a good weekend. The breakfast in the morning was lovely too!

    A fantastic little place, the cabins are well equiped and homely, the site is clean and quiet, there are laundry facilities on site , a large selection of wildlife in the immediate vicinity to keep you entertained.The accodation is well maintained, in fact I can not think of anything wrong with the place.

    In a great situation near patterdale just after the magnificent drive through the kirkstone pass.Tucked away from the main road so that you really feel that you are in the wilderness with lots of great walks straight from the door.Views are magnificent from the site even before you set off on your hike.

    If you are not into roughing it, and prefer a more luxurious type of accomodation then The Rampsbeck is just the place for you.
    As you drive down the long private lane and pull up outside the very attractive building the assortment of prestige cars parked in the car park tells you that you have arrived somewhere that is a cut above the rest.
    The hotel is tastefully decorated but not stuffy, there are fine antiques in the lounges , but you wont feel out of place in jeans ( but please dress smartly for dinner).
    The room that we stayed in which was only a standard room was huge and well decorated, the complimentary fruit bowl and mineral water was a nice touch. Each of the 20 bedrooms is individually furnished with character and style.

    The hotel stands in its own grounds that lead down to the shores of lake ullswater, there are more 'natural' grounds that you can walk your dogs in , and then there are the beautifully manicured gardens surrounding the hotel.
    The service is excellent, quick and friendly.
    The restaurant has won awards-and you can see why.
    This is the type of hotel that you immerse yourself to escape the pressures of everyday life, and it carries out that tasc admirably!
