Beautiful hotel, pleasant & friendly staff, nice rooms and excellent food.
The location of this hotel needs to be appreciated, stunning surroundings, far cry from the city!!

Stayed for 2 nights at this amzing hotel, comfort wise it is second to none with amazing views from every location. The staff were very helpful and on hand when needed. I dont have the words to tell everyone how fantastic the food was... out of this world!!
Stayed with a work party of 16. Stunning location with amazing views of snow capped mountains beyond the lake. Large room with sofas so very relaxing. Staff were very friendly and professional and after our champagne reception and canapes we had a very enjoyable and relaxing meal. As I need to have a dairy free diet the starter and main courses were adapted and an amazing dessert was ordered a few days earlier. Would certainly like to return for another stay.
We were en-route from the North East of Scotland to kent, and called the tourist board in Kendal for the names of some lake side hotels. we booked one hour before arriving at Holbeck!
Wonderful hotel to get away from the motorway madness. The log fires burning in the hall, the friendly and helpful reception staff, made you feel immediately relaxed and "at home"
We had a lovely room overlooking Lake Windermere, very comfortable and cosy, superb bed. The dinner was delicious, food and wine and service excellent. In the morning the breakfast was one of the best we have had, amazing smoked haddock and poached egg.
after such a relaxing overnight stay, where nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we felt revived and able to tackle the madness of the M6 and M1!
Although the hotel is a bit pricey, it is well worth it.
Wonderful location with stunning views. A real country house feel, the staff couldn't be more obliging and welcoming. All topped off with fabulous food and an excellent wine list. Our only regret was that we weren't staying longer, but we will try to find an excuse to return.
it was our first time at holbeck and we were thrilled with our stay.we hadour litttle dog alfie with us so were in a lodge room,we could not have been more comfortable!!the view was to die for!!!and perfect for dogs to wander about!!!the staff were all really welcoming andfriendly.the only downside was we thought the breakfast could have been better!but our dinners were fantastic so it more than made up for that!!!we def. go back when we can.a totally wonderful experience!!thank you!!!
Can't speak more highly of the hotel; it's location, the service, the food and of course the stunning views. Only had a short stay but was more than enough for me to want to return in the near future.
Would definately recommend.
All aspects of our stay were outstanding; cuisine, service and the beautifully appointed interiors. The views are the best I've experienced in a lakes hotel! See you soon
