Derby County Football Club (The Rams)
Derby County Football Club started in 1884 and they were a founder member of the Football League when it was formed four years later. For most of their time they have played at The Baseball Ground but in 1997 they moved to their present home the Pride Park Stadium. One of their most famous managers was Brian Clough under whom they won the league in 1972. On my visit to Derby in May 2007 they were playing in the Championship, the second highest league in England. They did however gain promotion shortly afterwards so for the 2007/2008 season, and maybe beyond, they will be playing in the Premiership.
