George Hotel: Pub B&B

The George Hotel is a popular local pub located right in the centre of the village, a friendly place with a great atmosphere, run by the owners.

There are only three guest rooms, all en-suite. The one we stayed in was larger than most we've found in then UK and had a good size en-suite. Price in 2009 was £64 for a double, B&B.

They pride themselves on the quality of the full English breakfast they serve, and righly so. The meat is from local farmers and the butcher is the pub owners' son so they get top quality bacon and sausages.

They also have a huge lunch and dinner menu with a wide choice of top quality dishes.

Bed & breakfast.

There's B&B accommodation throughout Britain, where you stay in a room in a private house - there can be as few as only one or two guest rooms - and it's almost like staying with friends. This is one we enjoyed. Rate in 2009 was £50 for two people, including full English breakfast.

The people are very friendly, the owner being a well-known personality in the village, the two rooms are cosy & clean. Located in the main street of the village.
