The best food in Dartmouth
Currently we don't know if the TV celebrity chef John Burton-Race will retain ownership but he has made this Michelin starred restaurant famous in the time he has been there since 2004. I can recommend the food as having been the best I have personally eaten anywhere in the UK outside London and was so impressed by my last meal there that I made a point of thanking John personally.
Inexplicably virtual tourist has no "Gourmet" category for a restaurant but that is what the New Angel most certainly is. The menu is exceptional, the wine list excellent and the kitchen all open and visible to the diners, so that you can watch your meal bing prepared. The customer to staff ratio is about 1 to 1 too, so as well as being courteous and fast the service is really excellent.
Finally the dining rooms both face the harbor over the open quayside, so the view is charming and exceptional. Highly recommended but very expensive. Expect to pay £100 for two including wine. I have found everything I have eaten there exceptional.
Have anything on the menu - you won't be disappointed.
