The world's Narrowest Street!
by debtravers
Parliament Street in Exeter is, allegedly, the narrowest street in the world. One end opens onto the High Street (opposite Halifax building society) - the other end opens into the Guildhall shopping centre just opposite Woolworths side entrance.
At its widest point it is only 1220mm across so if you want to walk along its length perhaps you should do it before lunch!!
Musical Shopping

Exeter centre is a lively place, buskers are commonplace. This particular band were very good, giving a rousing rendition of "When The Saints Come Marching In" followed by an impressive Glenn Miller " In The Mood". This particular group were selling their own CDs. A few years a go I bought a tape of some buskers playing classical French music, when ever I hear it now it takes me back to that Frence town.
Unless they are really dire & just taking the mick I always give buskers money, I love hearing them whilst wandering around.
CATHEDRAL CLOSE.

Cathedral close is where the highest concentration of Grade 1 listed buildings are in Exeter, with narrow Tudor lanes branching off. There are some lovely little shops and cafes along here or you can sit in the grounds of the Cathedral.
Exeter is a cool place

I stayed just outside of Exeter with a friend for about 6 days. I LOVED wandering around the town. It was full of people enjoying themselves. People were sprawled on the lawn outside the cathedral. There were great pubs, cafes, and shops everywhere. If you wander the streets, you'll find some really great places.
