The Clock Tower Hotel

Having recently downgraded myself to "budget hotels" the Clock Tower seemed ideal - city centre location, "Wi-Fi Throughout" AND "Smoking Rooms"!! Hey, hey, OK it's not as cheap as I would have liked but it does have the necessary combo!!

Well perhaps not: now there is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel in almost every department - reception on arrival is friendly, helpful to the extent of sorting out my morning call and taxi out to where I needed to be as I checked in; pleasant residents lounge/breakfast area; immaculately clean room (tho' a tad on the small side) but then asking for the internet access code - Hmmm!!!

"You may find that your room doesn't have a very good connection." was the slightly shame-faced reply - HA - i.e. NO CONNECTION!!

Unique Quality: For a city centre hotel this is a good, easy to find, location. Rooms are clean and well furnished - staff are very friendly and helpful. Maybe they'll have the internet connnection sorted next time!

Directions: A hundred metres from the clock tower (at the bottom of Queen Street) itself, very easy to find.
