Can anyone tell me what the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway is like? Also how much does it cost and can you stay on the train, or look round Dartmouth after being on the ferry?

Hi Jane
The Paignton to Darmouth Steam Train is wonderful! I was on it for the first time again last year for years. Both the coastal & countryside scenery is beautiful & you also travels along the boundaries of Agatha Christie estate at Greenway.

You can just get the train one way & then get the bus back, or book the train for a return later in the day if you get one of the morning trains from Paignton, You can also pick up the train at Churston (next to Galmpton).

Another option is to buy a ticket called the Round Robin, Which is the train ride, ferry to Dartmouth & then a cruist up to River Dart to Totnes & a bus from Totnes to Paignton, you can do this in revese order too.
