Heaven in Cornwall?
by Monique_T
Cornwall is beautifull. Along the sea, beaches, cliffs and rocks, it is great to walk around. Sometimes it felt like I was the only person on earth. It is something I can not really describe, it is something you have to feel. So all I can say is...go there and feel what I felt.
Dartmoor National Park
by margaretvn
This beautiful Park is famous for many things, for example it was the setting for the Conan Doyle novel “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. That novel paints a picture of the bleak and isolated open moor with the most secure prison (Princetown) of Britain in its centre. Dartmoor is more though with fine walking opportunities, waterfalls, and lovely little villages with thatched houses and plenty of chances to have a “cream tea”. The Dartmoor ponies, a small tough breed of ponies, they have lived wild on the moor since at least the 10th century and they are a much-loved symbol of this part of Britain. All around there are scores of prehistoric remains such as Grimspound, with impressive Bronze Age huts, which were built nearly 4,000 years ago.

The Barbican in Plymouth is the departure point for the many boat trips, that take tourists around the Naval Dockyards on the river Tamar, or around the famous Plymouth Sound to secluded coves and beaches.
Plymouth-Beautiful sea side city
by sunnygirl72
I have lived in Plymouth all my life. Born here 32 years ago, I have never left my home town . Unfortunatly due to bad management by the city council, this beautiful city was left to fall to pieces for many years. But in the last two years it again has come to life. Its beautiful location between Dartmoor and the English channel makes it an ideal place to visit for people if any age. Steeped in history including the civil war and stories of Sir Francis Drake. It has a vibrant night life and many hotels and guest houses. The National Marine aquarium has to been seen, as well as a swim in the Tinside Lido in summer.
Redevelopement of the city centre is at present causing a little choas, but soon it will consist of a futuristic shopping mall to enchance its present large shopping area.. Within 20 minutes you can reach the lovely beaches if Whitesand Bay, where also dive trips can be taken to the Scylla, a recently scuttled man made reef. The city boast many watersports, and regularly host the world power boat championships. It also host the Great Britain firework championships, which are fired over Plymouth sound, and watching from Plymouth Hoe is the most breathtaking sight.
