Me and my partner stayed at the cliffeside hotel for the night and were delighted with the hotel.it has a beautiful bar and restaurant, the rooms were clean and cosy and the price was very reasonable.it was situated right on the cliff edge and the view was beautiful.the breakfast was included and was lovely and there was lots to choose from.i would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone and it was a very romantic getaway!!

Rooms are terrible

Appalling Rooms
This is quite an old hotel and one of 3 built next to each other by the same chain. One has had a £million pound refit and this is screaming out for the same. The room standard is appalling and is in desperate need of a makeover. The original furniture wouldn't grace a second hand shop. Our room had stains on the carpet, edges peeling off of the furniture which was also scratched and worn looking. So was the door!
One set of curtains were falling to bits and covered in holes! The bathrooms are very dated and very poor for hotel standards. The shower was barely functional. Most guest houses have superior rooms than this. We complained and got a move without any problem but the new room was only marginally better. The rooms and linen are clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful but we were so disappointed in the quality of the rooms it's untrue. Definitely the worst rooms I’ve ever encountered at any hotel. The pool needs cleaning out the front of the hotel which doesn't add to the image at all. The service is fine & everything else (apart from those rooms) is fine. The bar is OK as is the restaurant and the breakfast was good. The location is very good and has easy access to the town. I paid £140 for the room but the standard is just not what you expect for that price or star rating. Sorry but wouldn't return or recommend unless they completely refurbish the accommodation. Isn’t the quality of your room an essential ingredient to enjoying your stay at any hotel or am I losing the plot?

Will be returning soon!

I took my parents to stay at the Cliiffeside and found it to be a great little hotel.

The restaurant was perfect for my parents who don't always like to eat huge meals and breakfast was a bonus too with a lovely selection everyday.

Our room was ok if a little dated but it was clean and fresh and comfortable.

My parents enjoyed their stay and I too did as it made for a perfect weekend.

Horrible, will never go again

I booked the hotel through last minute.com. The room are more like cubicles . They are very old and crying for redecoration. There is no space in the room and if somebody is sitting on a chair the other person cant walk around. Only saving grace is staff which are friendly.
