We have just returned from a very enjoyable long weekend stay at The Swanage Haven. The owners have gone to great lengths to make their guests' visit pleasant with their numerous 'little touches'. Our room was very clean and beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. The breakfasts included fresh fruit and home made cakes and pastries and Dianne's almond porridge is a definite must as is the organic cooked breakfast. Look forward to staying there again.
If only there was a Swanage Haven in every town!

Just spent the weekend travelling in Dorset. I phoned the Swanage Haven last week to see if they would take a one night booking, and spoke to David, who was extremly helpful and happy to accommodate me.
I booked a double room for the stay on the Saturday Evening.
- Check in is from 5pm, which is okay if your spending time sight seeing. We was taken to a lovely double room on the first floor, complete with toweling gowns and slippers. Nice flat screen TV with lots of channels, so was able to look at the Footy and Rugby Scores! before showering to go out.
The accommodation is up a very slight hill, and is approximately a ten minute walk along the sea front to the main town. However, there was a lovely restaurant at the bottom of the hill with lovely views and you can get a start and main for around £20. Booking recommended especially at weekends.
The Ship Inn, in town recently refurbished was a nice place for a few beers and nice food also. (again popular so go early evening or book)
David and Diane were very friendly and helpful hosts, and should I ever visit Swanage or nearby again, I would most definitely stay at this Haven!
My advise to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Swanage, you will not be dissapointed if you stay here.
I wish them well in this venture, they definitely have the right attitude to ensure that this business does well.
Swanage Haven ideal for a midweek winter break
by TripAdvisor Member simonandbridie
We wanted a base to explore the Dorset/Swanage area for a couple of days in winter, and were delighted to chance upon the Swanage Haven website. Online booking still being refined (couldn't book less than a week), but easy to sort out a booking with Dianne on the phone, and email confirmation very quick too. Thought the 5pm check-in would have us hanging around on the doorstep, but instead had a brilliant walk along Shell Beach (spotted as we disembarked from the ferry).
David was a very welcoming host, showing us to our well-appointed double room, whilst giving us lots of advice for eating out in Swanage. Highly recommended is Ocean Bay, five minutes walk away...
fantastic seafood and quality service, and a stunning location right on the beach.
Our breakfast at the Haven was delicious, nice to have fruit as well as a full English! And we had a dip in the hot tub, which has been well-designed with modern lighting.
All in all, a very pleasant stay in a comfortable guest house with friendly, helpful hosts.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Found the room well equipt and comfortable. Diane and David were very welcoming and we enjoyed a beautifully cooked english breakfast. There was a slight complication with booking online. You are limited to booking no less than 1 week at a time, which meant we had to call to book the weekend. This aside I would highly recommend.

My Husband I have stayed at the Swanage Haven several times and have never been disappointed in any way. Its easily the best place to stay in the area as we have stayed in several places around Swanage in the last few years and nothing comes close in the slightest.
The hot tub is wonderful, after a long journey in the car to get there we were able to just slip into our swimwear and into the robe and slippers provided and wander through the mediteranean inspired garden to the steaming tub of loveliness waiting for us (the lager and vodka and coke was obviously a big bonus too!!).
The rooms are absolutely brilliant, so clean and fresh with big snuggly beds and spacious bathrooms with all of the usual toiletries, tea and coffee and biscuits etc. There is also a lot more channels on the telly than just the usual 5 which pleased my hubby no end!
The breakfasts are absolutely 5 star, can't fault them at all. Full english or continental or a mixture. I couldn't resist and had the full english and fresh strawberries and melon and a chocolate brownie (well I was away and calories don't count then right?!).
We go back everytime we need a couple of days complete rest and relaxation, Absolutely worth a visit.
weekend luxury
by TripAdvisor Member Natalia5
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Swanage Haven in February. The room was cosy and luxurious and the shower was excellent. Our hosts, Dianne and David, could not have been more helpful and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely recommend the Swanage Haven very highly indeed.
The future of B & Bs!!
by TripAdvisor Member Dukla
This is a great B & B, and surely sets the standard of what more & more people are going to expect from B & Bs in the future.
We stayed for 2 nights this weekend just gone. The host David & Dianne were friendly, welcoming and always on hand to open the bar, fire up the hot tub and give advice on taxis, places to eat, walks etc.
The premises are bright, spotlessly clean, and modern in feel. There is car parking for every room, and the bar is well stocked in a really pleasant lounge with loads of local info and books etc.
The room is great. All very modern with a real feeling of wanting you to enjoy your stay. The little extras include chocolates, digital flat screen TV, modern massaging shower, plenty of storage and everything feels new, modern, bright and clean. There is even a room service menu (although we didn't use it) which I have never come across in a B&B in the UK before.
Breakfast is brilliant. Plenty of choice including a childrens menu, local organic option (for a small supplementary charge) porridge, brownies, muffins, fresh fruit etc etc. The traditional English option is very well cooked, plentiful, really tasty and not greasy. Again served in a bright fresh modern room.
The hot-tub is a fine example of 'that little bit extra'. Available to suit the guest in a lovely garden with cool lighting, and in typical fashion for this place, you feel pampered in fluffy white robes and slippers.
We paid £75 for our room with a good view of the Purbeck hills and will definitely be back.
The Swanage Haven and its host genuinely want to please - and they do - and then they please that little bit more.
A very pleasant stay, very freindly owners.
