Moving to Weymouth

by LouiseTopp

I hope you didn't mind me asking, but can you tell me what it is like to live in Weymouth? I am thinking of doing a council house exchange from Salisbury in Wiltshire to Weymouth and would like to know what area’s to avoid and go for. Many thanks.

Chickerell is very nice, I lived there for 2 years. It's about 1.5 miles from Weymouth town centre and is very picturesque. Wyke Regis is also nice, thats just on the way out of Weymouth before you get to Portland.
Good Luck.

Hi,

I am currently living in Weymouth. I am 20 years old and to be truthful i cannot wait to get out. However, saying that I think there is alot to offer here if you're starting afresh, theres not alot of crime, it is quite picturesque. Have you been before?Wyke Regis and Preston is very nice. I think it depends on how old you are and what you want out of it. It is a small place (thats a negative for me, everyone knows everyone!) but i know alot of people who would never leave. Good luck whatever you decide!

Well the jubilee clock.. what can one say? A poor man's, no a very poor man's, Big Ben I guess. It's a clock with some poor taste colours and it's reasonably big. I really couldn't say what is good about it, but everyone who visits always seems to remember it, and I can only guess it's because it looks mildly impressive when you look along the beach.
Based on other peoples reaction I would have to reccommend that it's worth a look, but don't get too excited. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
