Cerne Abbas

The Cerne Giant is nearly 60m high and 51m wide. It is one of 3 ancient figures cut into the English chalk downlands. The others being the Long Man of Wilmington and the Uffington White Horse in Berkshire.
This clearly phallic image is belived to be 1500 years old and is thought to represent the Roman god Hercules.

Coming from South Africa, we are used to sprawling white beaches with fine sand, blue skies and rolling waves... here the waves werent exactly rolling, but the sky was blue, the sun was hot... the sand wasnt that fine, but a lot finer than other pebbly beaches we have been to in England.
