Enjoyed every minute of our stay at Grey's Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member tedum

A heart felt thanks to everyone at Grey's Hotel for a relaxing weekend stay. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious the breakfasts were delicious, with a great selection on offer (including a great vegetarian option) and the service was excellent.Perfectly located for all Brighton's attractions and a short walk to the sea front. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would definitely recommend a holiday in Brighton at this lovely hotel.

What a great place to stay!

by TripAdvisor Member DDonuts

We decided to book a couple of nights at Grey's because we'd read plenty of good reviews on this site, and I have to say that we weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived we knew we'd made the perfect decision. As we walked down the street to arrive at the front door, Grey's stood out from the other hotels as being very cleanly decorated with a stylish contemporary look, a theme that was to continue throughout the hotel.

The owner, Terry, made us very welcome on arrival, and you'd struggle to find a more friendly and helpful chap. He showed us to our room which was very clean and pleasingly decorated. Nice details, like the real coffee machine, flat screen TV and quality toiletries gave a real luxury feel. Despite the fact that we were in one of the smaller rooms there was still plenty of space, helped by the light pouring in through the huge sash window, although the modern "minamalist" style meant that there weren't many shelves or tables on which to put our "stuff". We managed to sneak a peek at one of the four-poster rooms after it had been cleaned, and they are incredibly impressive. I wish I'd spent the extra money now.....

There was plenty of choice for breakfast, including a quality fruit salad with differing ingredients every day, and the full English breakfast was perfectly cooked. The local farm bacon was the highlight for me.

In summary, this place was perfect for us and, considering the high quality, is quite reasonably priced. Definitely recommended.

Best Wedding present ever

We never thought that we would be able to book the room that we wanted for this special occassion. The Hotel was like a home away from home, you were never made to feel unwelcome or that you were just there to help pay the mortgage.

Terry made our stay very memorable, especially when he brought up a bouquet of flowers on our wedding day, and not forgetting the bottle of bubbly to calm our nerves!

We are looking forward to our next stay at Grey's hotel.

Lovely little hotel with great breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member Helsie

This delightful little hotel provides a calm environment from which to explore Brighton. It is conveniently situated within a 5 minute walk from the Pier and the Lanes and has some fantastic restaurants near by. The owner Terry is a great host and cooks up a lovely breakfast which is eaten in the tranquil breakfast room.
Our bedroom was very clean with lovely decor and good coffee. My only whinge would be the small towels but other than that a really nice find.

Lovely hotel

We stayed one night at Grey's midweek in December. The hotel is beautifully decorated in neutral colours and very peaceful. You can see the sea from the end of the road, it's an easy walk into town and there's some decent restaurants in Kemp Town close by.

We booked a standard room which was basic, but very spacious, the bed was comfy and the facilities in the room were great - tea and filter coffee, mineral water and digital TV. The bathroom was a bit on the chilly side, and my husband found the shower a bit 'compact', but fine for one night.

Breakfast was great. The dining room is beautifully decorated in muted tones, with classical music playing gently in the background and the food was excellent; a good selection of cereals, bread and croissants and fruit juices plus a really good quality full English.

I'd definitely stay at Greys again if we were visiting Brighton and would try and splash out on one of the posher rooms - the door to one was open on our way out in the morning and we couldn't resist a peek - absolutely gorgeous!

Small hotel with a big heart!

My partner and I have just returned from the most wonderful weekend at Grey's in Brighton. We decided to spend the weekend away for some Christmas shopping and we found that the hotel is in a perfect location for shops, restaurants and the seafront.

When we arrived to check-in, the owner Terry couldn't have been more helpful and went out of his way to ensure we had a trouble free-stay throughout the weekend. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in a contemporary style and was spotlessly clean. We had the contemporary four poster room, which I have to say was so luxurious. As for the breakfast! There was so much on offer that we didn't need to eat again until our evening meal. The cooked breakfast was superb!

Grey's was such a great find, and it felt like a home from home which I look forward to visiting again in the spring.

Fantastic getaway - we loved it!

by TripAdvisor Member Keitochan

We booked a stay away to see in the new year and finding Greys really topped it off for us. A gorgeous place right by the seaside in Brighton and a lovely walking distance into the nearby village or the busier shopping area of the Lanes. Our room was so wonderfully decorated and the attention to each small detail was truly delightful. Most especially, the hospitality we experienced was absolutely second to none, with one of the most sincere and friendly hosts we've ever met. Also couldn't go amiss without commenting on the amazing breakfasts! Thanks so much Terry! We thoroughly recommend Greys for a getaway or longer stay as you might need and will definitely be heading back too. If you're searching for somewhere in the area to stay, seriously don't go past Greys.

Excellent place to stay if you want to avoid the big hotel chains

by TripAdvisor Member Pecks

I booked three rooms ( for me and 2 work colleagues) all three rooms were excellent. Beautifully decorated clean and well furnished. This is an excellent place to stay if you want a more personal level of service and want to avoid the big hotel chains.
This is essentially a B&B so dont expect a bar, restaurant swimming pool etc. Expect beautiful rooms with excellent service and you wont be dissapointed. Enjoy the breakfast!

Amazing room, fab breakfast!

by TripAdvisor Member Lisdeleau

I wanted something special for our first anniversary and I got it! A trendy boutique hotel with an intimate atmosphere and beautiful decor. At £120 per night it wasn't cheap but the huge room, modern four poster bed, excellent hospitality, and delicious breakfast made it all worthwhile! Well recommended!

first class

As far as bed and breakfast hotels go this one takes some beating. It is ideally situated close to the sea and all the other attractions of Brighton. We have never stayed in a hotel before with such spacious bedrooms, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the furnishings and decor were unbelievable. Added to this the full English was the best I've had for many years. Terry, the owner was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We'll definatly book again, it is well worth that little extra for a weekend of being spoilt.
