Our weekend break at Saltcote Place was fantastic. Paul and alan, the owners were the perfect hosts, it was like staying with good friends.
We could not have wished for a better weekend away, the room, breakfast and service was outstanding. We will definately be returning.
Thank you so much.

Attention to detail is truly an understatement!

by TripAdvisor Member BenLana

Our stay at Saltcote Place was initially to provide comfortable respite for tired cobbled path worn feet. Think nothing of the sort ladies and gentlemen! Paul and Alan have restored what must well be the primary abode of the entire area and established part thereof for the purpose of luxurious guest accommodation. Simply, wow! The attention to detail is far in excess of what one might expect of a business open to the public. And on top of these observations, I must sincerely endorse the welcoming and friendly atmosphere, terrific sense of hospitality where needed and absolute respect for privacy.

All superlatives aside, I will be recommending close friends and family with high standards to enjoy the Saltcote Place experience and I personally thank Paul and Alan for our recent stay. We’ll see you again.

Absolutely fantastic - Versace eat your heart out!!

We just got back home after a 2-day stay at the amazing and super-plush Saltcote Place in Rye. Alan and Paul were the best hosts, the breakfast was huge and delicious, and their attention to detail in everything to do with the place was staggering (especially the decor!).

Thanks v much for making us feel so welcome, especially our little boy (4 months).

My favourite Bed and Breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member Environmentally

Saltcote Place was a perfect place to relax with my family after some weeks in London. Our consummate hosts spared no effort to make us feel welcome and pampered in the wonderful 'manor' they have so tastefully restored and decorated. We were most generously catered for in this very private setting. I think it was great value for money in tourist terms and it was the best (of many) bed and breakfasts that I have stayed at in Britain.
Saltcote is situated on a hill overlooking the quaint, historic village of Rye where one could happily occupy days exploring. The views from Saltcote also extend over vast flat coastal plain - a deposition of a tsunami as recent as the 1600's - across to the coast of France. The garden setting has a magic of its own. Rye is situated close to many other sites of interest to tourists and thus one could settle quite happily into Saltcote for an extended period of serious tourist activity.
My family and I intend to return to this 'escape' as soon and as often as we can.
Margaret

Great place, great service

Salcote Place is truly a beautiful building and the owners are super-friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a luxurious 'home from home' experience with a tailored personal service, this has to be the place to stay in Rye! Andrew Hammond

True understanding of the word 'Service'

by TripAdvisor Member PhilippaValentine

This beautifully located place exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful homely welcoming atmosphere yet had the appropriate regard for privacy. Alan and Paul are fabulous hosts with a true understanding of the word 'service' which made us feel very valued as guests. Nothing was too much.

Beautifully decorated and extremely tastefully furnished, with a real sense of decadence and thoughtful little touches you wouldn't find in a hotel. The bed was so comfortable we almost missed the fabulous breakfast on both days, which fuelled us up for day.

We only stayed for 2 nights but felt truly rested on our departure and plan to return in the summer when the sun is shining - although Alan's sunny disposition brought a wonderful warmth to our entire experience.

Highly recommended

Welcoming Retreat

by TripAdvisor Member WkndWarriorLondon

Paul and Alan go out of their way to make your stay something other than an ordinary B&B experience. Not only is the house really special, but their personal pride in its history and the investment that they have made in the property only add to its uniqueness. Their attention to detail and their standard of service is really impressive and appreciated. It was a great weekend made even better by their efforts and we'll be back.

Fairy-Tale Romantic get away!!!!!

Alan and Paul were extremely kind and accomodating from the moment my husband and I arrived to this mansion. We loved the grounds as well as the pride and hard work these two have put into this place. The accomodations were superb and we were pleasantly surprised with the modern amenities. We had the best weekend getaway experience and wanted to pass it on to others. We have traveled extensively and this was by far one of our best stays in England!
