Epping - not bad

"Epping"

Epping is a small town in west Essex. It's a reasonably attractive place, but there isn't that much to do - just an old-fashioned high st, some restaurants and pubs, and the weekly market. It is, however, on the edge of Epping Forest which is a lovely place to walk, or I am reliably informed, to ride bikes. At the time of writing, it's making a guest appearance in the UK TV show 'He Kills Coppers', based on the excellent book of the same name by Jake Arnott.

It's easy to get to normally, as it is on the Central line of the London Underground, and near to the M25 and M11. However my recent visits have been marred by engineering work and motorway closures! Check before you travel.

"Food and drink"

I visit Epping as I have friends there. Therefore most of my time in the town is spent eating, drinking, and talking. I'll put up reviews of pubs and restaurants as I use them.
