a white mini skirt and white stilettos are a must! especially if planning to experience the nightlife. St. Tropez, or cheaper fake tan, is also an essential buy as even the most naturally tanned person will look pasty white in comparison to southend's finest.

"The Pier"
Apparently the longest pier in the world and currently being rebuilt after parts of it were burnt down.
At the end of the pier:
* an RNLI shop, selling all sorts of souvenirs depicting the good work of the lifeboat men
* lots of people fishing
* Punch and Judy shows
"The Beach"
A really long and sandy stretch of beach fringed with shops selling icecreams and beach paraphernalia, mini golf and catering for an eclectic, multicultural mix of families and sunbathers.
"Food"
Typical British seaside specialities:
* Whelks
* Fish 'n' chips
* Candyfloss
* Icecream
* Beer
