Horse Racing

Cheltenham is home to the world famous Prestbury Park racecourse which hosts top class horse racing throughout the year. In March the racecourse hosts the famous Cheltenham Festival where all the worlds top horses and jockeys meet to battle it out over the three days. The Cheltenham Gold Cup , the top race is on the Thursday.
As from 2005 the Festival will be four days and the Gold Cup will be run on the Friday. Binoculars and eyes to see the races, a race card to pick out the runners and riders.

"First Day in Cheltenham"
Arrived in Cheltenham around 6am and check-in into Carlton Hotel. The ride from Heathrow to Cheltenham was well-arranged by SXS in a nice comfortable sedan car. The GPS system of the car amazed us... yeah I was together with a colleague of mine, Boay. After having our first English breakfast and put in our luggage, both of us waste no time, went out and venturing the little Cheltenham town.
"The Promenade in Cheltenham"
A nice boulevard with shops, mostly boutiques and bookstores (yeah... my fav) but since it's Sunday, most of them were closed. Nice walking down the Promenade in such a nice and comfortable weather.
"Cheltenham Municipal Hall"
Beautifully landscaped with amazing blooms in front - the Cheltenham Municipal Hall.
"Everyman Theather"
Want to watch a theater in Cheltenham but the full program of the company's training stopped me from going.
"Who's Faster?"
An old man, classically dressed as Englishman with walking stick (or umbrella?) in hand walking leisurely along the rain while a kid in full sporting gear including bicycle helmet was cycling in parallel. The old man came into the world faster, grew old and will definitely die faster. No matter how fast the kid's bicycle, it won't be able to surpass the old man. So, who's faster?
It doesn't matter by the way cox at the end, the kid will be the old man too. OK... wat am I babbling here?
"Cheltenham Town"
The town started to grow into silent mode with crowd started to disperse as early as 5pm.
"Pub"
Nice looking pub in Cheltenham town. Was contemplating to go and enjoy a drink or two at night but again due to endless streams of program, I didn't have the chance to do so.
"Walkathon in Cheltenham"
Taken around 4pm, which is after approximately 8hrs non-stop of walking/walkathon around Cheltenham. Yeah... I was still smiling. Silly way to start the first day in Cheltenham
