beautiful rooms, so-so service

We were there with extended family so we had two rooms for two nights. The rooms were beautiful.

One was the John Forbes room: very large, old fashioned decoration, but nicely done; bathroom a bit poor and down three steps. The room was slightly dark, but over-all it was good. Occasionally I could sense a slight meaty smell; I'm not sure where that came from. Were we over the kitchen? I never figured that out. It wasn't that bad.

The other room was the Richard Ware room: smaller, but much brighter and an excellent bathroom. No smell.

Service was courteous, but they didn't exactly fall over their feet trying too hard.

I wouldn't stay there again, but only to try out some of the other places in town. Over-all, it was good.
