Not a bad choice
A pretty standard hotel in a good location in the town centre. The public areas are mostly good, but the room needed updating. The bathroom in particular was very dated and small. The staff were generally very friendly.
The breakfast was good, though they seemed to be understaffed. The evening meal was much better and the staff then were well trained. We chose the things that would obviously be home made and they were very nice. There are two restaurants - one called 1651 the other the main hotel restaurant which is more traditional.
We thought the bar drinks were on the expensive side.
Unique Quality: The hotel car park is very small and we had to park in a Pay and Display Car Park about 3 minutes walk away.
