My hubby and I booked last minute to stay at this hotel through Laterooms.co.uk. When we arrived, the hotel didn't look too impressive, but what a surprise we had inside. The hotel is really lovely in decor and atmosphere. Even though there were many guests booking in due to a wedding, the reception staff did all they could to ensure ease of checking in. Our room was fantastic, with a huge bed.........I hardly knew my hubby was in it ;-) The swimming pool wasn't huge but was fine for us, they had part of it seperated off for lane swimming, we enjoyed a sauna and steam room too, towels supplied. We had a 3 course evening meal at the hotel, and the standard of the service and food was very high. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff, how refreshing! We sat in the court yard in the sun and had our breakfast, we could of been anywhere in the world (yes it was that 1 sunny day we had this summer). Would definatley stay here again.

booked a deal through superbreaks for my partner and I and our 5 children for 3 nights dinner bed and breakfast. We found the hotel easily off the motorway. The receptionist was excellent on checkin there and been a problem with one of our rooms which she sorted straight away. Our rooms were spacious, decorated to a high standard with flat screen tv's tea and coffee facilities etc. The bathroom had a good sized bath also a powerful shower and there were various products as well to complement the bathroom. We visited the leisure facilities and found them excellent and clean however the pool felt a little chilly. We ate in the restaurant on each night and found the food ok. The negitives however - the cleaning of the hotel needs a liltle more detail - the bathroom was thick with dust on the back of the doors. The retaurant floor under the tables was dirty with debri of food from previous meals. the hotel needs to explain there dinner rate better to guests so they know there allowance and where the can eat. We found the restaurant not very family friendly as you cannot eat before 7pm even though it was full of guest from 6pm if you were at a conference. We were still turned away at 10 to 7 !! We felt that the the hotel was lovely but a little Impersonal but perhaps it is only intrested now in the corporate clients of this world I have stayed in other Q Hotels and not found them to be like this.
Great fun, Great price, Great break

We went to the hotel to have a bit of a pre-christmas break. It was three females and the hotel accomodated all three of us in the same room. They did explain that it would be a twin room with a camp bed but this was more than fine. The bed was actually very comfortable. The main reasons for coming here was to use the spa facilities and to have some treatments. the spa was very nice, relaxing and suprisingly quieter on the Saturday than on the Sunday. Treatments were amazing and I couldn't fault a single thing on them!
We ate at the restaurant both nights. First night in the bar and the food was nice. And the second night in the actual restaurant area. This was all very nice no complaints and we all enjoyed the food. The only slight issue we had was that the toast for breakfast is brought over to your table and that was cold. But everything else was lovely.
Staff were very helpful if we needed to ask anything although they didn't have any toothpaste behind reception! Not really there fault as we had all managed to forget or just not bring ours! However not even a 5 min walk up the road is a petrol garage so that crisis was solved. They also have a Toby Carvery right next door but we didn't try that.
All in all rooms were a lot nicer than we could have expected and the bathrooms lovely. Having a TV was great and perfect for the whole relxing thing. Bedroom was a nice size, we didn't suffer with any noise problems and the curtains are lovely and thick and don't let any light in! Perfect for that great nights sleep!
