    Central, Comfortable, Old Coaching Inn

    by

Our eight night stay in this clean, slightly quirky old Inn was enjoyable. We were given room #7 and it had a floor that pitched about 30 degress, plus a view of the odd old roof lines. No A/C, but we were able to get a breeze through the window, and housekeeping left us a fan after the first night. The room was a little small, yet there was plenty of drawer and hanging space for clothes, complimentary bottled water and a decanter of Scotch in the room. Breakfast was included and you had a selection of cereals, a cooked to order English Breakfast -- and they were smart enough to list the items and let you select just want you wanted. Much appreciated by an American like me who doesn't want to see mushrooms and a whole tomato first thing in the morning.

Unique Quality: The "Redesdale Dog", well behaved but happy to recieve attention. Excellent dining after 6:30 p.m. or pub fare available at other times.

Directions: Just a short walk from the Rail Road Station -- easy to figure out from the map on the Redesdale Arms web site under location, taxi cabs available at the station if needed.

Driving directions also on hotel web site.
