The Bell Hotel was built around 1696. It is thought to stand on the site of the monastic hostelry within the Abbey Precincts. Standing just across the road from the Abbey and a stonesthow away from the shops it is a great place to stay. I didn't stay here on my visit to Tewkesbury but did visit for a few drinks. The interior decor is lovely with huge fireplaces and roaring open fires in the winter. The food served here looked very nice and was very popular with the locals. Hopefully I will get chance to stay here in the future and will then return and update my tip.
