More about Premier Travel Inn Heathrow Bath Road
A Good Look
This hotel is truly stunning to look at. From the ouside you feel like you are getting into the most exciting hotel in London. Even the entrance hall is very nice and appealing. What i found a bit of a turn off is the location of the bar which is right alongside the passageway which means that everyone is goaking at you as you come in. It can be a bit unerving for shy people like myself.
However the room was tidy and clean as you would expect from such a new hotel.
The major drawback for me was that they didnt have room service and it made it awkward for me and my wife as we were just trying to relax on Valentines. We had to go downstairs and queue up for food. Hardly 5 star service is it??
Stayed overnite as had a midday flight and arrived previous evening. Was annoyed that at 11:00pm when we arrived had to wait for over 45 mins to check in as some asia bound flights had been cancelled due to typhoon and the airline (Qantas) decided to put up their passngers here...now thats just bad luck..BUT of the 10 or so check in terminals only 4 were operating...poor service from the hotel! Nice modern hotel, rooms are decent size & clean, beds way too soft, no aircraft noise. We had the breakfast buffet GBP7.50 per person (kids under 15 free) and it was fine. Good selection of cereals, juice, toast, yoghurt, fruit salad and warm food though the scrambled eggs were bit sad. You can easily walk to Mcdonalds on Bath road, about 2-300 metres away. If you want more choice, take the local bus which stops right outside front entrance for GBP1.50 (10 minute ride) to the Hounslow High Street (CBD) where all manner of shops including Tescos supermarket are available. Also checkout time is 12.00midday but you can extend it to 6.00pm (very useful!) for GBP25.00. Overall other than the delay in checking in, its great value and you can't get much closer to Heathrow airport.
Fantastic hotel for the price
This is a great hotel for the price. Beautiful lobby and the room was very nice--great queen bed (not two singles pushed together), well appointed bathroom, large room size. This hotel felt a little more "American" to me than most European hotels. We did not stay for breakfast or use the meal facilities. You can get to the hotel from the airport on the Hoppa bus in about 10-15 minutes (4 pounds each way). It was head and shoulders above the Ibis hotel across the street.
Not a pleasant experience
First, let me say this is the first semi-negative review and I have written to Tripadvisor and I have written quite a few reviews.
Our flight to the USA in London had been canceled so we were put up in the Premier Travel Inn. It looked very "blocky" and plain from the outside but that didn't bother us. The lobby area looked nice with the bar area, reception, and restaurant layed out attractively.
Here comes the negative part...we had asked for a non-smoking room since my boyfriend and I are highly allergic to smoke. As we were walking down the hall to our room, we realized there was a strong smoke odor so we were a little worried about our room. As we opened the door, we were overwhelmed with the strong odor of smoke. Without touching a thing, we closed the door and returned to the front desk to request a room change. We were told that since we used out keycard to enter the room, it was now programmed in their computer that we are checked into that room. She would not change it. Very strange. We asked if a housekeeper could come in and spray some deordorizer so we don't get sick. She said she would send someone to fix it. Since we couldn't bear to be in the room, we told them we would take a walk for an hour ro give them time to take care of it. After an hour, we returned to the same smokey smell. Nothing had been done. We returned to the desk to request some spray. They told us they would send someone right away. Again, we told them we would stay out of the room to give them time to fix it. We went and ate dinner and returned after 1 and a half hours. Nothing had been done. By this time, I felt we had been more than patient so I attempted to call reception. It rang thirty times and they never picked up the phone. My boyfriend trecked, once again, to the front desk and told them he would spray the room if they gave him a can of deodorizor. They said they would send someone right away to our room. SHEESH! After a half hour, they sent a can of spray to us. We sprayed the room a couple of times and the spray removed a lot of the smoke smell. Needless to say, this whole experience was very negative.
Aside from the smoke problem, the room was furnished comfortably but the quilt and covers were not wide enough on the bed to cover two people so we struggled to stay covered the rest of the night. The temperature control the on shower faucet was not working correctly. We were only able to get warm water instead of hot water. The sound from the plane traffic was not bad so the rooms were pretty well sound proofed.
The food was also disappointing. The dinner and breakfast buffet had an ample assortment of foods but they were, on the most part, very bland. However, the dessert selection at dinner was nice.
The airport Hoppa Bus stopped at the hotel frequently so that was nice but it is the last hotel stop on the route returning to the airport so sometimes the bus is quite crowded when it stops at this hotel.
If you want a non-smoking room in this hotel, stress that and make sure you actually get one before you open the door to your room so you can be spared some of the headaches (literally) we had.
Great pre flight accomodation.
Stayed with my wife and two children the night before we flew off to san fransicso. check in was smooth and the room was fine and big enough for four - even if it did take ten minutes to get there from reception ! . the bar & restaurant on site are excellent and we felt refreshed despite our early start the next morning. use the shuttle bus to the terminals , its cheap, quick , on time and easy to use.
Excellent soundproofing and clean!
This is an excellent hotel for an overnight stay if you have an early flight to catch the next morning. Located conveniently on a main road (Bath Road), the busses take you direct to the tube station and you can get to London within 20 mins. There are also "Hoppas" - Buses that pick you up and drop you off at Heathrow and it comes every 15 mins (first one at 5.20 am) by the Premier Travel Inn car park. It costs 4 Sterling pounds one way.
Like a silent movel, you can watch giant 747s take off and land from the window of the hotel. In a straight line, Heathrow is probably around 500 or so meters from this hotel by the way. So they have done a marvellous job in sound proofing it.
There's a bar, restaurant, coffee place (which is open by 5am), internet access (24 hrs). Didn't stay long enough to sample the breakfast but I can't see why anyone would complain about this hotel.
My room had a queen bed, a day bed and an extra bed on the floor. It faces the inside of the hotel so you can see the what's going on downstairs (soundless of course). It had a hair dryer, TV, a very clean toilet and all the conveniences you would need after a long-haul flight! Everything was modern and new.
Would definitely recommend it and I would stay here again without a doubt.
A little gem!
Stayed here last night and feel I really should comment.......Our flight got cancelled very late after a lovely 2.5hr delay and BA arranged accommodation here, and actually it was a real treat!
A swift check-in by very nice helpful staff and because of our delay we got given a food voucher so quickly visited the buffet restaurant before it closed at 11pm. Now here was the surprise, the food was steaming hot, lots of lovely choices and if that wasn't enough..... to top all that, the chef was also standing there carving us slices of roast beef with roast spuds. I've stayed in plenty of Travel Inns before, but this one was exceptional. Really clean, the paintwork and carpets were surely brand new? there weren't any scuff or wear & tears marks anywhere, it was so noticeable. Room was pristine and had a coffee machine & biscuits, it was lovely and quiet considering the hotel is literally at the end of the runway. There is also a nice bar, but as we all had to be out of the hotel by 5.30am didn't think it wise to sample its delights!
Hoppa bus is 4 pounds, takes around 10 minutes and will only take you to Terminal 1, whereby you have to take the free Heathrow Express over to Terminal 4, which really isn't a problem as the bus drops you right next to the lifts which then take you down to the platform.
This is a real find, dont bother with the posh places, trust me and go for this little gem of a find, you will really enjoy it.
Stayed here for one night on the 27th Sept before an early morning flight. Upon arrival the check in area is something similar to that of an airport check in, found the staff nice and friendly. There is a coffee bar, restaurant and bar area downstairs as well as a little kiosk that sells 'necessities'.
Our room was on the 2nd floor, it was immaculate, clean, good size and the sound proofing was excellent. Bathroom was clean, bed a little uncomfortable but not seriously so. Little noise from other rooms but nothing you wouldn't expect from any hotel.
Breakfast was £7.50 buffet and was excellent, staff friendly again and the place spotlessly clean.
I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Aerial before but would choose this hotel over that one - the room cost us £79 for the night and was great vfm.
Very Fancy for a Premier Travel Inn
We stayed here for a night before flying from Heathrow – as I’d guess was the case for everyone else at the hotel. It is quite a bit bigger than your average Premier Travel Inn, with a big atrium down the middle with the check-in desks, a restaurant, a bar and a 24 hour Costa Coffee. Check in was very smooth and the room was exactly as expected and quite nice and new. The room had wireless internet for an extra cost. We ate in the restaurant which was standard chain-pub food. We used the telephone in the lobby to book a taxi which was very efficient and we got a call spot on time in the morning to tell us our taxi was waiting outside. Altogether a perfectly acceptable hotel.
great inexpensive hotel
This is a great inexpensive hotel next to Heathrow. It is relatively new and modern with simple but nice rooms with individually controlled air conditioning, in room coffee/tea service, decent bathrooms, and reasonably comfortable bed. The room was large by London standards and had a desk and a sofa that converts into a bed. Reasonably priced wireless internet service is available and you can also purchase dial up service.
The hotel has a very large modern lobby with a full service restaurant, 24 hour coffee stand, and a bar. There is a lot of seating in the lobby with newspapers available. When I was there they were serving free snacks in the lobby for cocktail hour and a server came up and offered me water and juice as I was standing in line.
My only complaint is the lack of fitness center but most people don't care about that anyway.
For transportation to Heathrow you can get the Hoppa Bus for 4 pounds. Make sure you have exact change. It stops at all the terminals. It comes by every 10 to 15 minutes and took about 15 to 20 minutes to get to Terminal 3. It did not stop at other hotels. If you want a cab you have to call one.
This is an excellent hotel for catching your plane the next morning at Heathrow.
