Good value, close to Heathrow
I found Travelodge Heathrow Central to be a good hotel to stay at for the cost. 120 pounds for 3 nights (incl breakfast). The hoppa bus collects and takes you to heathrow for 4 pounds. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Room was really clean and with the double glazing, I couldnt hear the planes landing and takingg off. Bus outside is only minutes from the underground station to London (Picadilly Line). My only irritation was the cafe. It was freezing cold and the service and food was appalling . Microwaved muck was an apt description. Real shame as it was a great hotel for the price.
Excellent value for money
Paid £29 for this room, amazing value. Very new, flat screen television, clean bathroom although shower curtain does allow water to get all over bathroom floor! Very quiet especially considering location. Did have to pay, think it was £5, for car parking however we were at Heathrow within 10 minutes in the morning and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Wow! A Travelodge I can recommend!
Great value, good shuttle to the airport (or you can easily get to West Hounslow tube) and one of the nicest friendliest Travelodges I have ever been in - actually probably the nicest. It's one of those new funkier ones so public areas are cool and the rooms basic but have all you need. Very good sound proofing in the windows by the way - planes coming over all the time but you can't hear them.
Very friendly staff.
Excellent value, good quality
For a no frills, though clean and pleasant hotel this is a great hotel. Bright, modern and very clean. Staff were very attentive from check-in to check out. Our first room had a problem with the air-conditioning (only blowing hot air), though staff quickly and efficiently moved us to a different room. Rooms are standard Travelodge (quite basic), though have everything for a one night pre-flight stay. Noise insulation is excellent - we did not hear planes landing.
We didn't eat at the hotel, though when we nipped to the bar plenty of people were and seemed to be enjoying it.
Would certainly use this hotel again.
Perfect for night before flight from Heathrow
We were flying out from Heathrow the next day and saw a room here for £19 so we booked it. It was in a rough area a bit away from the Airport but we didnt mind. We paid £20 for parking there for 4 days, the room was perfect for one night and had all you would need (double bed, shower, TV, hangers) We were very comfortbale there. I wouldnt recommend it for a long stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel had a restaurant too which we were surprised at. We didnt use it because there was a chip shop nearby and we fancied chips. There is also a pizza place and an off licence nearby. The local buses go outside the hotel to Central Bus stop at Heathrow for around £1 per person but we paid £4 per person for the direct hotel hoppa bus which picks you up outside the hotel and drops you outside your terminal. This saves lugging cases from the bus station, possibly getting the wrong local bus, stopping millions of times and having to mingle with all the locals.
How to relax at Heathrow!
Nice new hotel with comfy beds, good shower, nice staff, bright and airy breakfast room with good choice. No noise problem. Taxi from airport is pricey (£15) so get the no 41 Hoppa Bus which runs on a fixed schedule from most terminals and pulls in right in front of the hotel front door.
Nice hotel for a night before a flight
I stayed here for one night before I flew from London Heathrow. The hotel looked very new and clean. The room was small and basic but had everything I needed. I didn't hear any outside noise which was great. I didn't eat at the hotel as there were a few takeaways nearby.
The TV was a little high up on the wall so when you were lying in bed it was too dark to see the screen.
Unfortunately one of the lifts didn't work so there was only one lift working on both days I was there.
The hotel is quite a way away from the airport so you need to get the number 41 Hoppa bus to get to/from the airport which was £4 each way. This bus goes to/from Terminals 1-3.
I got this room very cheap so it was a bargain for an airport hotel.
GREAT VALUE STOP OVER HOTEL
We stayed here for 1 night before a early flight. We paid very little on a offer so were open minded. The hotel is fairly new and so clean and well maintained. Our first problem was to find it. We were counting down the numbers on Bath road so travelled in that direction, what we didnt know was that half way down the numbers stop going down and change to go up so we were going totally the wrong way. When we did arrive there were no parking spaces - this was partly due to some buidling work and the workers vans taking up places - it was rather difficult to sort out at 11pm at night with 4 children. We eventually abandoned the car in a corner and hoped for the best. As there were 2 adults and 4 children we had to pay for 2 rooms and had requested they be next door to each other, and had this confirmed, surprisingly they werent, in fact they werent even on the same floor so we split the adults for safety reasons. Rooms basic but clean and ad everything they said they would, breakfast buffet really nice and a lot cheaper then the airport as the kids ate free. Just 5 mins from the terminal so would def use again.
Best Travelodge I've ever stayed in.
Had a view of the airport runway- ask for a room as high up as possible. Saw the A380 land in the morning and it's easy to get to the airport. Don't take the heathrow hopper. Go left as you leave the hotel until you get to the "normal red london bus" stop about 100m away outside tesco express.
I can't remember the number but if you are trying to get there from the airport ring the hotel and they might tell you the number (they seem to encourage people to use the hopper bus which is far less frequent and far more expensive). When coming from the airport get off outside the ramada hotel (50m away on the other side of the road) as after this the bus turns off into the suburbs.
If going to London take a bus from the other side of the road and then a tube from Hatton Cross. This tube goes to the centre of London including Kensington, Hyde Park and Picadilly circus and it is worth getting a day pass as this covers buses, national rail trains within london and the tube. If you have a family railcard buy your passes at a national rail station like Waterloo, Euston, Paddington, Victoria or Kings Cross as you get a discount.
There is a really cool restaurant cafe area at the hotel with a big tv and modern couches.
Great value, great experience
I can only endorse the other positive reviews of this hotel shown below. We stayed here for a night before an early morning flight from Heathrow, and couldn't have been happier. Rooms were clean, tidy and nicely decorated, and the staff were more than helpful. We nipped into Hounslow on the bus (bus stop is located just outside the hotel) for an evening curry, and opted for the hotel breakfast the next morning. This was cheap-ish (£7.50) and pretty cheerful, and it certainly set us up for our morning flight. Will definitely stay here again when next flying from Heathrow.
