Heathrow airport...how long from Terminal 5 to terminal 3?

by Miguelzgz

Hello.

Could you please tell me how much time is needed to move from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 in Heathrow? We don´t have to take our luggage, just leaving one plane and ride the next one. We changed terminals there some years ago, and I know there are free buses from one building to another, but I can´t remember how long it took? I hate running at the airports and would like to know in advance.

Thank you all!

Routes between terminals

Terminals 1 or 3 to Terminal 5

Use Heathrow Express trains for a free transfer between Heathrow Central and Terminal 5. This quick, convenient service runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes about three minutes. Please ensure you board the correct train as Heathrow Express also runs non-stop to London Paddington.

Heathrow Central is between Terminals 1 and 3, which are a few minutes' walk away via underground walkways and are signposted from the platforms. The Terminal 5 rail station is in the basement of the terminal and linked to check-in and arrivals by express lifts.

Alternatively, the 441 and 724 buses provide a free transfer between the terminals, taking 10 and 20 minutes. The N9 night bus, which runs between 23:55 and 04:55 (times vary at weekends), also takes ten minutes.

Services stop at the Terminal 5 bus station (next to the terminal) and the Heathrow central bus station (between Terminals 1 and 3).

Go to this address on the official Heathrow website;

http://www.heathrowairport.com/portal/site/heathrow/menuitem.572b72a575f279fba4b12871120103a0/

and click 'travel between terminals' on the left-had menu. there you will find the advice given above.

The train transfer is your quickest option, but remember that Heathrow is a large and hugely busy airport (and just getting to the transport will take a while). Remember also that security procedures can take a good length of time, and queues can be long at busy times.

If you click the link 'Flight Connections pages.' on this same page you will be taken to a page where you can put in both your incoming ad your outbound flight, and be advised about transport between terminals and the time you should allow.

Hi,
Leics gave you probably the best of all possible answers, but consider, that she is a voluntary archeologist, so you might possibly end up in a hideout, that might be detected in 50years plus and classified as pre- terminal 5 users !

Noooooooooooo! :-))

Actually, T5 is one of the few bits of modern architecture I really quite like. Do go through security as soon as you've checked in, because there is a much better choice of places to eat/drink airside.

Thank you all! To be true, I think we have time enough when we are leaving Europe, and we are a bit rushed when we come back...but that is less important!

Our trip leave at 23:30, so a good choice to eat and drink is important!

Thanks again!

Travel Tips for London

London City

by hoofhearted

Just soaking up the culture and the history that is around every corner in London. You don't really need a tour guide, or a book to find something interesting throughout the city. We found that a little serendipity was our best guide... London is so diverse; historically, culturally, etc. There really is so much to see and do, and that is what makes it such an exciting city. We had fun and great memories in just the short time we were there.

The rich & famous looking down on you!

As well as all the pomp & ceremonies of London look out for the fun side of life! It maybe just another pub - but would you expect to see this gentleman in any other city? I wonder what Shakespear would think of London today? A city far removed from its dirt & squaller but just as busy with people & traffic - both now of a different nature. The people of London won't give you a second glance - far too busy - but if you start to laugh at things you see - BINGO - you have their attention - if only to see what could possibly amuse you!

I was delighted to be able to meet Vt'er Laura who has been a VT friend of mine for several years.
We met at Covent garden and went to the Punch & Judy pub to have a nice long natter along with drinks and Ice cream.

Need Best private doctors in London ?

by Imbi

Harley Street is best known now, and was then, as the place where the most expensive and some of the best private doctors work. Many still have consulting rooms, or at least waiting rooms, little changed since the eighteenth century when the street was built

End of year parties

by Jenniflower

This is a custom that happens in most Western countries I would think.... the work End of year party/dinner.

The vibe in London is great, one gets off work a little earlier, we have our little Secret Santa pressie giving in the office, there are Salvation Army people posted at various street corners to entertain you as you go about your business in the streets of London.

All very romantic in notion, and enjoyable.

It is an enjoyable tradition, one which I look forward to as the company seldom get together socially, even though everyone hopes that they wont get to sit next to one of the bosses (because then they have to behave!) hehe
