  • I stayed here for 6 nights in October 2006 after choosing it because of its location. It's one block from Victoria Station, where you can catch the Tube, a bus, or the train. It is also very close to Buckingham Palace (about a 10 minute walk) and several shows, including Wicked and Billy Elliot. The room and private bathroom were spacious by European standards and included American outlets, in-room safe, hair dryer. I hung the Do Not Disturb sign out continuously after the second night since I didn't really feel the need to have them make the bed, ect. every day. On the second day of this they called me just to make sure I was OK and to see if I needed anything.

    Great service, location perfect, especially for catching public transportation.

  • I stayed here with a large group. It was clearly very high standard. The only negative aspect I can come up with was the area. Not far from the action, but not in it either. But if you can afford to stay at this hotel, you can probably afford taxis too.

  • in a week I am going to stay there again!!! and I am glad i got this hotel from Secret Hotels deal on lastminute.com it is very modern! staff is wonderful!! rooms are rather nice for even US standarts. I cannot recommend it highly enough))

    When i made reservations online, this place was still the Atlantic Budget Hotel. But in those brief 2 months, it transformed into Wake Up London Hostel. It's motto was "wake up with a new friend." Scary. That's all I'm saying.

  • I ve been there twice. and i will never come back. Showers are very bad. There are lots of leaks, condensation. There are a lots of humidity everywhere and it s prefect to get sick. Sometimes you enter toilets full of water. The staff is very slow and you stay online for minutes in front of the desk. Some guys in the staff spend their time picking up female guest rather than doing their job. They are very pushy and very rude with girls. The Cable/TV suscription is limited. They only get the most common free channels. The Computers for internet doesn t work all the time. There is noise/music 24h/d everywhere you go in common rooms and that s difficult to to have a rest. i remembered waking at 2.00 am in the morning somebody was lookin into my stuff. I ve been wake up by the light of his cellphone. i just saw that the door wasn t properly close and the guy ran away. Someone stole my digital camera by dismounting my locker from the top. However there were a padlock on it. I tried to pay for a Bsafe locker for my laptop. But it didn t work and the staff told me : " Call Bsafe " I forgot to say there are no enough keys for all the guests in dorm. It means that everybody must drop their keys to the reception. But once the people in my dorm forgot to drop it. I stucked in front of the room. The staff told me " wait". I waited for 2 or 3 hours before entering the room.

  • Bedlinen included / tv in every dorm / no curfew / GBP22 per nite (in Jan.'01)

    Although the name suggests a hotel rather than a hostel, it is actually a combination of both. You sleep in dorms (at least, I did; I don't know if they have private rooms as well) but a decent hotel-like breakfast is included in the price. This hotel really is the British Museum's neighbour: the world-famous museum is literally around the corner! Perfect for museum lovers!

  • Regret staying in the hotel. Clear case of credit card fraud. While the payment to the hotel was made in cash, they also billed my credit card, which was given to them as a guarantee. It's been 15 days since I have been trying to get a reversal of charge. Advice: Do not give them your credit card details or better still do not stay there.
