The Waldorf

This is another one of Londons flashy hotels. It is not cheap, but you should not be disappointed here! A lot of the rooms have plasma screen TVs and have music and video on demand. The showers are pretty good too with a shower tower that has both shower and body jets. There is also climate-controlled air-conditioning·

If you are staying in the hotel, you get complimentary access to the LA Fitness Health and Leisure gym. It offers lots of exercise classes as well as a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms and big gym. There is also a swimming pool. This hotel is near the theatre district, so is a good place to stay if you are planning to take in several shows and have the cash to splash.

Our room, #129, Hyde Park
Towers Hotel, London

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hyde Park Towers Hotel. At $75 a night (rates went up after March 31), it was a bargain, conveniently located near the Bayswater tube station and Kensington Gardens. We found this room via the Internet, which caused us a little worry, but our fears were unfounded. We found it interesting to get to our room - like a little maze. Breakfast was included - cereal, fruit, etc. Also, the room had a hot pot with tea/sugar. Bathroom was surprisingly modernized - very nice. Balcony doors opened onto a quiet street, with decent dining choices nearby. Just a note - this hotel is only 4 stories - no "towers" to speak of...

One major drawback (now theres a surprise)...you have to bring your own boat. If you are a sailor however, then you can stay right in the heart of London at St Katherines Dock next to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Berthing charges at Twenty-one pounds (up to 10M boats) may be relatively expensive compared to other moorings...but an absolute bargain for staying in the centre of London.

Thistle Bloomsbury Park

Another addition to the Thistle Hotel chain in London, this one near Russell Square is still being renovated, but offers decent sized rooms, a nice breakfast room, and basement pub with big screen TV for Skysports :).

Two blocks from the British Museum, a ten minute walk to Covent Garden and the Theater District, what more could you ask for, at about $100 a night for a double room.

Chamberlain hotel

I was tempted to walk into the reception of the Chamberlain Hotel (think about the name) with a piece of paper (my reservation) held above my head saying "Bed in our time" The hotel itself is only a couple of years old and is located in Minories in the heart of the city of London. Unlike most new hotels it is very much a traditional hotel rather than the minimalist cutting-edge sort that seems to be all the rage at the moment. The location is unusual as it is not a 'hotel area' but being so close to Tower Hill Tube and Tower Bridge / Tower of London it is in a very useful location. Rooms are furnished to a high standard, although prices are a bit steep . If you can get a reduction through companies like www.laterooms.com then it is a bit less painful on the wallet.

The Baths have television in them - well allright in the tile facing you. Excellent for a long soak. You can usually park right outside the hotel for free at the weekend from 1.30 PM on Saturday.

Gurards Hotel

The London Guards Hotel is the best place I have stayed on in UK so far. The service was good, the rooms were nice and clean, and the price was really low, at least when booking on the net.

On London Guards Hotel I didn't even have to ask for my keys when coming back after the evening on the town, the people in the reception recognised me and saying "welcome back Mr Stenvall, here is your key", that's service.

Holiday Inn Brent Cross

This hotel was very comfortablre and ideal for what I went to London for. A little expensive, but the comforts well compensiated for the money. I had travel to London to shop for a particular item at John Lewis shops, and this hotel is right opposite the shopping centre.

Lush Hotel

Very Posh swanky Hotel with outstanding service. :-) I really enjoyed my stay.

I stayed here a number of years ago and it's still quite a popular hotel with tourists. Good prices, good location. I have stayed in this area of London a few times. Close to Euston Station, King's Cross/St. Pancras and Russell Square. The Tavistock is handy for Bloomsbury and the British Museum and not that far from the theatre district. All rooms en suite, some smaller than others, breakfast included may be continental or full English, depending on price.

Overlooks a nice green leafy square. Two blocks' walk to Euston Station or Russell Square. Russell Square is on the Picadilly line to Heathrow airport.

This hotel is ideally located right in the middle of London.

A huge lobby with plenty of seating, excellent breakfast, a restaurant, bar, conference room, this hotel seems to have it all. Next time I visit I want to stay here again--only this time permanently.
