London
by Meena1 about London Hostel Association
There are 5 or so hostels in different parts of London. All are mixed hostels with some single rooms, some shared femail and some shared male rooms. Bathrooms are all separated off and clean and private. The buildings some are beautiful and old (Belsize house) one has just been built (friendship house). Some hostels are catered (food provided) and some are self -catering (kitchen provided). We didnt get on with the food given, so prefer to have self -catered, or organise our own food. People are great, both staff and residents. Really recommend. Character & people.

I have never stayed in a London hostel, but in Edinburgh I can recommend the hostel in Blackfriars Street, close to both bus and train station - no more than ten minutes to walk. It´s a good spot to explore the old town as well. I suppose bus is the less expensive connection between London and Edinburgh, though sometimes there are cheap flights, so it´s worth checking.
Enjoy your trip! Kasia

You probably need to look to see if there are any deals on the train (http://www.thetrainline.com) or the coach (http://www.nationalexpress.com)
You might also like to explore the cheaper air carriers (Easyjet, Ryan air etc) but in my experience, 'bargains' on the plan disappear when you add in the cost of travelling to and from the city to the airport)

I would still check out the Easyjet website for prices they also do deals on train tickets to get you there.

normally the cheap air fares have to be booked well in advance to achieve the best price,,if you travel by bus, depends if your travelling on the weekends or week days asthere can be a difference in price can ,,looking for a room,,my guest room is free!!cant say fairer than that,,my home is 30 mins from glasgow and edinburgh!!hope thats been helpful

The 16th there is a VT-meeting in London so it would be fun if you could come a day early and join us..
About cheap accomodation ,i have stayed twice at the hostel in Earl's Court and once in Belsize House. Both were quite ok and within easy distance from moat major london sites with public transport.
For more hostels http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/ChosenCity.London/ChosenCountry.England or http://www.hostelsclub.com/italia/list_hostel.asp. They also let you book online

Hello,
There won't be changes, we just can't do them because 16 is the last day that Sandra will be in London. but a couple of us stay till April 19, so if you want to walk a bit with us and have a drink together, we can arrange it.
